LinkRouter Support
Set up once.
Stay in control.
Enable LinkRouter in Safari
- Open Safari settings. On iOS or iPadOS 18 and later, go to Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions. On version 17, go to Settings → Safari → Extensions.
- Select LinkRouter. Tap LinkRouter, then turn on Allow Extension.
- Allow website access. Choose the website access shown by Safari for the supported sites in your installed version. Safari can also keep a separate permission for an individual site or Private Browsing.
- Choose and enable a route. Return to LinkRouter, choose a destination for a supported route, and turn it on. Route availability depends on the installed app version.
Troubleshooting
The extension is enabled, but nothing happens
Check all of the following:
- the route is enabled in LinkRouter;
- Safari has allowed website access for the current site;
- the destination app is installed;
- the current address is one of the link types supported by that route; and
- Private Browsing has not kept a different extension permission.
Unsupported, ambiguous, malformed, or failed links are intentionally left usable in Safari.
A route or destination does not appear
LinkRouter separates development candidates from production-supported routes. An app or website appears as supported only after its specific link rule meets the release requirements for that LinkRouter version. The public app does not expose a research candidate as a working route.
Safari shows a different website permission
Safari controls extension permissions. Open the current page’s Safari menu and choose Manage Extensions, or return to Settings → Safari → Extensions → LinkRouter. Review both the global website-access setting and any per-site override.
The wrong content or a repeated handoff appears
Disable the affected route immediately so Safari resumes its original behavior. Then email support with your LinkRouter version, device model, operating-system version, destination app version, and a non-sensitive sample link.
LinkRouter Unlimited is not available or will not restore
Confirm that the device is signed in to the Apple Account used for the original purchase and that the App Store is available. In LinkRouter, open the Unlimited sheet and choose Restore Purchases. The price shown in the app comes from the App Store for the current storefront.
Purchases and refunds are processed by Apple. For billing or refund requests, use Apple’s Report a Problem service.
